Repair any areas that could provide a place for a hornet nest to be built. Also, fill any holes with dirt, packing the dirt tightly in the hole.

Traps can be purchased at most retail or farm supply stores and can be effective in stopping hornets before they have a chance to begin building their nest.
These traps use a sweet, sticky solution to attract the hornets and then hold them.
